Turquoise. Mother of Pearl, Sterling Silver
I liked this design concept so much, I employed it in a bracelet and earrings, as well. The necklace features three strands of small, irregular pottery beads in turquoise with dark highlights. I say pottery, but I'm not sure. The material is hard and has a shine - they could be turquoise - as in the mineral. I salvaged the beads from an older necklace and, while unsure of the origin, the look and feel are wonderful. The three strands are combined into one with sterling silver filigree cones. From them is suspended a pendant of ornate sterling silver beads, a 2", vintage, mother of pearl button and a piece of tumbled, irregular turquoise. The neck opening measures 18" and the pendant drops 1".
